“A Polk County teacher is out of the classroom because investigators said he brought a gun with him to school. The school board voted unanimously to fire Phillip Bradley, 51, Tuesday. He taught truck mechanics at the Ridge Career Center in Winter Haven. A 9 mm handgun was found in his truck in the school parking lot last spring. A hearing officer recommended a 90-day suspension. However, school board members said it would set a bad example for students.”
