| TENS of thousands of red-clad protesters marched on the office of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Thursday, stepping up their campaign to topple his shaky three-month-old government.
Police said around 30,000 supporters of fugitive former premier Thaksin Shinawatra had started moving in trucks, cars and on foot from a downtown parade ground towards Government House in Bangkok.
Chanting 'Get out! Get out!' and waving their signature plastic foot-shaped clappers, the demonstrators vowed not to give up until the British-born Abhisit has resigned and called snap elections.
'Today we have only one aim, to oust this government,' protest leader Jatuporn Prompan told reporters. He said that so-called 'Red Shirts' from other parts of the country had defied efforts by the military and the government to keep them coming to the capital.
