Study of patients in China shows median time to discharge was 22 days while average time to death was 18.5

Coronavirus kills in an average of just 18.5 days, the first study into the progression of serious illness caused by the virus has found. 
Researchers in China examined the records of 191 patients admitted to Jinyintan Hospital and Wuhan Pulmonary Hospital after Dec 29, 2019 who had been discharged or died by Jan 31. 
Both hospitals took patients with the most severe symptoms of Covid-19 from across Wuhan until Feb  1. During that time, 137 patients were discharged and 54 died. The study found that the median time to discharge was 22 days, while the average time to death was 18.5 days.
The average duration of fever in survivors was about 12 days, similar to that in non-survivors, but nearly half of people who recovered still had a cough on discharge. Shortness of breath got better after around 13 days for those who got better after being infected....
