| The updated Ford GT supercar made its debut overnight at the 2020 Chicago motor show.
The GT's 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine now has gallery-cooled pistons, higher-energy ignition coils, larger intercoolers, new buttress air ducts, and revised calibration settings.
As a result the V6 now has a broader torque band and an extra 10kW to play with, increasing total output to 492kW.
An Akrapovic titanium exhaust is now standard, and is said to give the car a "deeply resonant, unmistakable sound", as well as shave around four kilograms off the car's weight.
Ford has also made changes to the suspension setup to improve handling and body control "particularly for those high-speed transient sections of closed-course circuits".
