Chinese internet users are flocking to Pornhub to bash pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong after similar videos were yanked from more traditional platforms such as YouTube, according to a report Thursday.
Propaganda videos boosting the agenda of authorities in Beijing — who have worked to spread the message that protesters are violent separatists — are popping up on the porn-sharing site, including ones praising Hong Kong police and depicting protesters as thugs, according to qz.com.
One shocking video calls rioters “cockroaches,” a term Hong Kong police have used, and shows a man being set on fire after arguing with protesters, according to the business news outlet.

Nearly a dozen of the videos appear on a Pornhub channel titled “CCYL_central” — Chinese Communist Youth League — including ones that show a state-run broadcaster criticizing the movement, according to the outlet. The channel has so far garnered 9,000 views and 32 subscribers.
Another user shared videos praising Chinese students overseas for clashing with Hong Kong “separatists.”
Shu Chang, a Chinese online commentator with more than 3 million followers, said in a post Tuesday that she and other internet users are taking to Pornhub after being banned from YouTube.
“YouTube would not allow us to upload those videos so we have no other way but to post the videos to Pornhub,” said Shu, who didn’t specify what the videos depicted.
In recent months Twitter, Facebook and YouTube have shut down accounts spreading China’s campaign about the Hong Kong protests overseas as critics called them part of “a disinformation campaign.” In total, YouTube shut down 210 channels.
Hong Kong protesters have been calling for a stronger democracy and an inquiry into police brutality.
A rep for PornHub told The Post on Thursday the firm has taken down the videos in question.
“We have reviewed and removed the videos as soon as we were made aware of them for violating Pornhub’s Terms of Service,” the site’s vice president, Blake White, said in a statement.
