| President Trump's 2020 campaign manager accused Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) of "grandstanding" for his calls to impeach the president. “If Phony @justinamash were a TRUE libertarian, he wouldn’t stand for abuse of FBI power, spying, & bogus dossiers funded by political foes and fed to secret FISA courts,” Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale tweeted. “He is just another Grandstanding Swamp Creature auditioning for the approval of the liberal media.”
Punk.

— Brad Parscale (@parscale) May 29, 2019 Amash made headlines when he said special counsel Robert Mueller’s report details “impeachable offenses,” sparking backlash from fellow members of the GOP caucus and Trump. The Michigan Republican and member of the House Freedom Caucus resumed his criticism of Trump following Wednesday morning remarks by Mueller reaffirming that his investigation did not result in an exoneration. "The ball is in our court, Congress," Amash tweeted on Wednesday. Tuesday evening, in his first town hall since the remarks, Amash received a standing ovation but also encountered a handful of questioners angry at his criticism of Trump. Parscale’s criticism of Amash echoes that of Amash’s fellow libertarian-leaning member of Congress, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who said that Mueller’s investigation was “the antithesis of libertarianism.” Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway dismissed Amash, who has declined to rule out a third-party presidential bid in 2020, on Wednesday. "Amash can do what he wants," Conway told reporters. "I’m sure you’ll continue to cover his comments." The congressman has already drawn a primary challenger and Michigan’s wealthy DeVos family said it will end its financial support for him, although they said it was a decision made before Amash’s remarks on impeachment. The House Freedom Caucus also voted to condemn Amash's comments.
