| Subject: Funny: Trump States ‘Nazis Are People Americans, Too’ Sun Apr 28, 2019 10:01 pm | |
| Washington DC – President Trump doubled down on his assertion that there were ‘good people on both sides’ of the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville back in 2017. He told a crowd of reporters “Nazis are people Americans, too.”
The reporters present didn’t question Trump’s grammar. Three years into his presidency, the world is used to the commander-in-chief’s butchery of the English language. Many see Trump to be on the defensive since Democratic candidate Joe Biden called him out on the President’s implicit approval of the Blood and Soil wing of the Republican Party. - Quote :
- Biden, in making his 2020 pitch, described a deep divide between his view of Charlottesville as a clash between “those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it,” and Trump’s own view that there were “very fine people on both sides.” Biden, in his announcement video, said Trump’s response to the rally was evidence of a “battle” underway “for the soul of this nation.”
Were Nazi People Americans? Professor Andrew Canard teaches history at the Theological Institue of Technology (TIT). He’s written peer reviewed articles in prestigious journals on Nazis, Americans, and people. He had this to say about Trump’s analysis: - Quote :
- Considering the cottage industry regarding Nazis in movies, video games, and novels, let me say members of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (i.e., Nazis) were human beings. They were not zombies, sentient giant robots, or vampires. Some of those ‘people Nazis’ were and are American. During the 1930s there were citizens of the United States of America who self identified as Nazis. There are Americans alive today who identify as Nazis. However, not all Nazis are Americans. Germany was crawling with them for a period of time.
People For The Ethical Treatment Of Nazis (PETN) Responds In the days following the unprovoked attack against alt-right leader Richard Spencer, the organization known as People for the Ethical Treatment of Nazis (PETN) was born. PETNS’ mission statement is as bold as it is clear: - Quote :
- People for the Ethical Treatment of Nazis (PETN) is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all Nazis. PETN operates under the simple principle that Nazis are not ours to punch, curse, experiment on, or use for entertainment. PETN focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of Nazis suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in universities, on Twitter, on MSNBC, and in the entertainment industry. PETN works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and direct action.
Nathan Bedford Forest is Chairperson of PETN, and released a statement celebrating President Trump’s continued support of the Aryan community. “For too long Nazis had to listen to dog whistles from the GOP. President Trump is taking us out of the shadows and whistling our song strong and proud.” In related news, Senator Bernie Sanders is now the Democratic front runner. Will the 2020 election be billed as Fascist vs Jew? Only time will tell.
