 |  Subject: Nonsense: Ben Shapiro’s Homophobic, Islamophobic Tweets Contradict His Claim of Not Being ‘Alt-Right’  Sun Mar 31, 2019 3:12 am | |
| Last week, The Economist published an article entitled Inside the mind of Ben Shapiro, the alt-right sage without the rage. But Shapiro himself, as well as many of his followers, disputed the title, claiming that he is not actually part of the “alt-right.” The Economist later changed the title, after various Twitter users defended Shapiro, and pointed out that he has often been a critic of the alt-right.
With this said, a recent discovery of old tweets made by Ben Shapiro, and posted by journalist Scott Stedman, show quite a different story.
Stedman shared a long list of tweets made by Shapiro over the years, which would seemingly confirm that his beliefs, or at least his tweets, fall quite in line with that of the alt-right. After some digging, HillReporter also found some more of these tweets (see below):

— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) January 26, 2012 So, while Shapiro argues against the idea that he is part of the alt-right, mostly because of two points: 1) he has condemned the alt-right in the past, and 2) he is Jewish, it can certainly be argued that his political ideologies seem to fall quite in line with a large number of individuals who do classify themselves as being “alt-right”.
So let’s dig a little deeper, and examine what the definition of “alt-right” really is. According to Wikipedia:

Ben Shapiro can claim that he is not part of the alt-right as much as his wants, but one thing is for sure: Ben Shapiro’s tweets are part of the alt-right.
