Disgruntled residents in the US have voiced their anger over a bizarre new rule which means they must leave their garage doors open throughout the day.

Homeowners in Auburn Greens, California, have been told if they don't leave their garages open between 8am and 4pm during the week they could face "an immediate hearing notice and subjected to a $200 fine," KCRA reported.
