A police officer who starred in Sky One TV show Road Wars has died along with a 91-year-old woman when his force motorbike smashed into a car while he was on duty.

PC James Dixon, who was known as 'Dixie' by friends and on the show, was killed in the collision, in the sleepy Berkshire village of Wargrave, earlier today.

The dramatic incident, which has been referred to the independent police watchdog the IPCC, happened on the A4, just before 2pm.

PC Dixon, who was based with Thames Valley Police at their Lodden Valley police station near Reading.
