| A young person completes a three-year business degree. Like many students, they attend few lectures and have limited on-campus connection with the university. When their degree ends, the student leaves the uni and loses contact with it. Their education ends abruptly.
The only communication between the uni and former student is occasional invitations to alumni events. The student is tired of study, perhaps disillusioned with the outcomes, and wants little to do with education providers. The uni is so busy churning new students through the system that it overlooks previous ones.
