A London-based blogger, who alerted the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council to the massive dangers posing a threat to residents at Grenfell Tower, was threatened and silenced by local officials for highlighting the building's problems. Grenfell Tower was home to over 600 people, situated within the Lancaster West Estate in London, was engulfed in flames on Wednesday morning. The death toll continues to rise. Francis O’Connor, who was a member the Grenfell Action Group (GAG), alerted councilors back in 2013 addressing the ongoing safety issues of age building and the risks the new works on the building posed.
