| Subject: Vox Co-Founder Tweets After Congressman Shot: 'Republicans Are Getting What They Want' Thu Jun 15, 2017 12:15 am | |
| On Wednesday morning, just after Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), a congressional staffer, and members of the Capitol Police were shot during a Republican baseball practice, Daily Kos founder and Vox Media co-founder Markos Moulitsas tweeted “Republicans are getting what they want.” Moulitsas tweeted in response to a 2016 tweet from Sen. Rand Paul's (R-KY) office, referencing a comment by Judge Andrew Napolitano (@Judgenap): - Quote :
- “Why do we have a Second Amendment? It's not to shoot deer. It's to shoot at the government when it becomes tyrannical!”
The Vox co-founder apparently took Sen. Paul’s tweet to mean that the Senator condoned acts of violence like the Wednesday’s shooting in Alexandria, Virginia that sent House Majority Whip Scalise to the hospital.
