Two open carry activists walked into a Dearborn, Michigan police station wearing ski masks and armed with an AR-15 and an AK-47 style rifle. While they entered the building to prove a point about the importance of enforcing open carry laws, they unsurprisingly freaked out the cops, leading to a tense stand off and arrests.

One of the men, anarcho-capitalist James V. Baker broadcast the encounter on Facebook Live. They entered the police station to file a complaint about getting “illegally” pulled over.

According to CBS62, the men were pulled over earlier that day after the police received complaints about men in tactical vests and ski masks milling about a shopping district.

“Put it on the ground or you are dead … I will shoot you. I will put a round in you, sir,” one cop said.

“What the hell’s the matter with you?” said another cop.

“It’s all legal sir,” calmly replied one of the open carry activists.

Apparently there is no law against open carrying fire arms in Michigan police stations. But the combination of bullet proof vests, ski masks and assault rifles were enough to invoke a strong reaction from the police officers.

In a statement to CBS62, the Dearborn police chief called the stunt “unacceptable and irresponsible.”

“This is not a 2^nd Amendment issue for me,” he said. “We had members of the public in our lobby that fled in fear for their safety as these men entered our building. I want to express my appreciation for the many calls of support we’ve received from the community including a call from the president of Michigan Open Carry, Inc. who made it clear that he and his organization stand with law enforcement and unequivocally condemn the actions that took place in our lobby this past Sunday.”
