| Subject: 'Criminal conduct': Confidential report reveals OZschwitz military's sex abuse response was tainted Sat Nov 12, 2016 8:53 pm | |
| Confidential documents show the mishandling of military rape allegations may have amounted to "criminal conduct", as two key figures behind probes into sexual abuse warn a lack of decisive government action means alleged perpetrators are still serving in senior positions.
Len Roberts-Smith, who headed the government's ground-breaking Defence Abuse Response Taskforce, and Gary Rumble, who led what became known as the DLA Piper Review, both said a royal commission was the only way to put to rest questions about a spate of rapes at the Australian Defence Force Academy in the 1990s and later assaults during the 2000s.
