Three WA police officers have been stood down after testing positive to illicit drugs during random testing on Monday.

A spokesperson for WA Police said officers from their Internal Affairs Unit visited five suburban police stations to undertake the routine testing.

"Approximately 200 tests were conducted and three officers returned a presumptive positive result to amphetamine and methamphetamine," the spokesperson said.

"The samples have been forwarded to the Chemistry Centre WA for analysis and confirmation and in the meantime the three constables have been stood down by the Assistant Commissioner for Professional Standards, Nick Anticich."
