| George H.W. Bush has been taken to hospital after breaking bones in his neck during a fall.
The former president, 91, was at his family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, on Wednesday evening when he fell, his spokesman Jim Mc Grath said.
He added on Twitter that the politician, he identifies as '41', is 'stable and his injuries were not life threatening.
Mc Grath confirmed he would be staying in the hospital overnight and confined to a neck brace, but was 'fine'.
Bush Snr, who revealed several years ago that he suffers from a form of Parkinsons disease, spent Christmas 2014 in hospital after complaining of a shortness of breath.
