This man tried his luck and failed after trying to break his friend out of jail by dressing up like a policeman.

The unlucky guy, who was just trying to be a good friend apparently, ended up getting himself arrested.

CCTV footage released by Chinese police shows the man walk calmly into the police station in Zhejiang Province and try to negotiate with officers to free his friend.

The man can be seen speaking to two officers inside the building or a while before they step outside to have another chat.

It’s reported the man used to be a police assistant so he knew a few tricks of the trade.

The real police officers were not fooled by the trick and quickly arrested the man who served five days in jail for his dishonesty.

His friend was arrested on false charges of illegal gambling.
