| Subject: Boycott Morocco slave pen: Jennifer Lopez could face court action after revealing performance Mon Jun 08, 2015 12:54 am | |
| Jennifer Lopez may be facing court action in Morocco, and a government minister could have questions to answer, after a live show had some observers branding it "a breach of public decency". Not for the quality of the songs, necessarily, but the nature of her performance.
Lopez, occasional actor and revived pop singer, was performing at an outdoor festival in Rabat, Morocco late last month and the show was broadcast on national TV. Wearing her usual high riding/low cut outfits and dancing in her usual full-bodied manner, Lopez may have pleased the audience there, who also got to see Pharrell Williams, the often as raunchy as anyone Usher and the suddenly controversially, if briefly, nude Maroon 5.
However, some reports, based on what may well be second hand translations of local media, suggest several organisations including a Moroccan education group not only objected to what they felt was a show that "disturbed public order and tarnished women's honour and respect" but will seek redress in the courts.
