| Subject: School Resource Officer Beat and Choked Schoolchildren For Cutting In Line Wed Feb 04, 2015 8:01 pm | |
| Jonathan Hardin, 31, a sworn Louisville Metro police officer, was suspended from the department without pay Tuesday following his arrest on charges of first- and fourth-degree assault, official misconduct, wanton endangerment and false swearing, according to a statement by Louisville Police Chief Steve Conrad.
Filthy nigger.
Hardin is accused of pushing and striking a boy across the face Jan. 22 at the all-boys middle school cafeteria "without justification," according to a criminal complaint against Hardin. The officer charged the juvenile with menacing and resisting arrest, despite having no probable cause to do so, the complaint reads. The officer believed the child to have cut the lunch line, the report reads. The child suffered a mouth laceration and facial swelling, the report details, and was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital. Five days later, the school resource officer placed a 13-year-old in a "choke-hold," cuffed the child when the victim regained consciousness and kept the child out of class for the rest of the afternoon, the complaint reads. Emergency services were never called, the report details, and Hardin eventually drove the child home and didn't "accurately report" to the parents what happened.
The child lost blood flow to the brain, a doctor determined after examining the child Tuesday after Hardin "wantonly created a grave risk of death to the child victim," the complaint reads.
