| The Christmas holidays are almost here and for many people that means … illness. It’s officially known as leisure sickness, and it afflicts those whose body is shocked by the sudden experience of doing nothing; so shocked it shuts down, turning a much-needed trip into a mood killer.
Sometimes the onset of leisure sickness doesn’t even necessitate a vacation. A simple uneventful weekend is enough of a foreign event to turn a human body into one paralysed by migraines, muscle pain, fatigue, nausea, flu-like symptoms, fever and viral infections.
