| Melbourne has invaded the Gold Coast, with a video filmed in The Age's abandoned Spencer Street headquarters winning a major art prize there.
Called We Are Printers Too the video, by David Chesworth and Sonia Leber, was originally commissioned for the NGV's Melbourne Now.
In another Melbourne connection, this year's Gold Coast Art Prize was judged by former Ian Potter Museum of Art director Chris McAuliffe, who described the work as "a clear winner".
"Communications technology," he said, "shapes our world but the artists' video of an abandoned newspaper building shows how far and fast technology moves; yesterday's high-tech is today's junk."
