With much of the Great Lake region experiencing a blinding downfall of snow, New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has dispatched 150 personnel with the National Guards to Buffalo, NY, and surrounding area, on Tuesday night to assist in relief efforts. He also declared a "state of emergency" in ten counties where the lake-effect storm has already blanketed much of the region with up to four feet of snow. Emergency responders have been having a difficult time reaching stranded motorists since late last night, among many others effected. It could “take many days to dig out the Southtowns,” according to meteorologist Jon Hitchcock, who works with the National Weather Service in Buffalo. On Tuesday morning, all 50 states experienced freezing temperatures.
