In this lecture given at a 1996 conference of the International Society of Individual Liberty, George H. Smith speaks generally on the moral right of resistance to government and particularly from the historical perspective of the American Revolution.
Smith was formerly Senior Research Fellow for the Institute for Humane Studies, a lecturer on American History for Cato Summer Seminars, and Executive Editor of Knowledge Products. Smith's fourth book, Themes in the History of Classical Liberalism, is forthcoming from Cambridge University Press.
