| The government agency charged with protecting consumers is in disarray after its boss was possibly sacked and two senior media advisers went on stress leave following the electrocution of a woman by a faulty USB charger.
The Fair Trading Department has failed to issue any of its usual daily warnings on products and services for more than five days since the departure of the senior staff.
On Wednesday, new Fair Trading Minister Matthew Mason-Cox refused three requests for an interview to discuss the growing furore over his department's handling of the death of central coast woman Sheryl Anne Aldeguer when using her laptop on April 23.
His office refused to confirm whether department commissioner Rod Stowe was sacked on Friday.
