| Subject: Useless OZschwitz pigs: Triple-0 calls not getting through Sun Apr 06, 2014 6:57 pm | |
| A man who made a triple-0 call to police was allegedly stabbed to death after waiting more than an hour for police to arrive.
Police officers in rural NSW claim that black spots and poor reception across the police radio network are widespread, leading to the death of Kenneth Parker, 50, in December.
Mr Parker called triple-0 at 6.35pm from his home in West Wyalong, near Griffith, in fear for his life. However, the call went unanswered for 70 minutes, by which time his wife, Marianne Parker, had allegedly inflicted fatal stab wounds.
Emergency services arrived at the couple's small fibro home at 7.45pm and took him to West Wyalong Hospital, where he died.
The Police Integrity Commission is investigating the police response to the call amid claims that the force's radio network has problems across the entire western region, which stretches from Broken Hill to Armidale.
