| U.S. authorities are reporting that an ultra-light aircraft from Mexico came into U.S. airspace unannounced near San Diego for a drug drop-off earlier this week.
The incident occurred on Monday around 4:15 a.m. when border authorities spotted and tracked on radar an ultra-light aircraft crossing the U.S./Mexico border and entering San Diego County. U.S. authorities sent a helicopter to track the aircraft while Border Patrol attempted to locate the suspected drug drop off location.
The aircraft hovered around the Brown Field Airport in San Diego and was tracked heading back to Mexico, never landing. Brown Field is located some 13 miles outside of downtown San Diego and 1.5 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border.
