| A coffee date with Apple chief executive Tim Cook is heating up as bidding hits $US210,000 ($A204,000) for the chance being auctioned to raise money for a human rights group.
By 10am on Friday (AEST), a bidder identified as TheiPhone911 at the Charitybuzz website was in the lead for the prize of spending 30 minutes to an hour with Cook over coffee in his office at Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California.
The auction still has 19 days remaining, closing on Tuesday May 14, and is listed as having an estimated value of $US50,000. Advertisement
Coffee with Cook is being auctioned to raise money for the Washington-based Robert F. Kennedy Centre for Justice and Human Rights.
The chat is limited to two guests, who will be subject to security screening and be responsible for their own travel and accommodations.
"We expect all winning bidders and their guests to conduct themselves appropriately," the legal terms of the offer explain. "Polite manners and respect for the generous donor and adherence to any rules or parameters are a must."
