A 27-year-old Victoria Point man was found with a kilogram of the drug ice in his carry-on luggage when he was arrested at Brisbane Airport, police say.

In addition, a Sydney man, 36, and another man, 36, from Melbourne, were arrested on Wednesday as part of a crackdown on an organised drug ring in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley nightclub district.

Queensland police allege the network’s distributors were bringing drugs, mainly ice and ecstasy pills, into the state on domestic flights in their hand luggage.

The two men are due to be extradited to Queensland to face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.

Detective Superintendent Steve Holahan says that after raids on eight homes in Brisbane on Thursday morning, the network has been cracked.

Operation Juliet Cheshire, which started in September 2011 with detectives from interstate, has also been closed.
