| Antony Tei, his shirt wrinkled and his hair unkempt, stood in a Brisbane Supreme Court looking like an extra from a Tarantino movie diner scene on Friday.
Years of drug addiction led him to Justice Martin Daubney's court room.
The 53-year-old was charged with 12 counts of supplying a dangerous drug and one count of possession after being swept up in a separate police investigation in 2010.
That scheme involved defrauding the Gold Coast City Council of more than $170,000. A fellow drug user and friend of Tei's, Mark Filippow, 50, had been responsible for hiring casual labour for construction projects the council was involved in. He provided false time sheets for Tei who was paid without completing any of the work the council had been billed for. Advertisement
Both men were jailed for five years in March last year, the Southport District Court Judge suggesting a parole eligibility date of September 14.
