| Three asylum seekers taken to Nauru for processing were locked up in the local police station at the weekend for allegedly damaging accommodation and cooking facilities.
Immigration Minister Chris Bowen confirmed the three men had been held overnight and that there had been a disturbance at the temporary regional processing centre at Topside, where minor damage to kitchens, tents and lights occurred.
Mr Bowen said the men had since been returned to the camp and that no staff or asylum seekers were injured in the incident.
