| Subject: Lack of coverage of CPD lawsuit reveals rotten establishment media bias Sat Sep 29, 2012 6:44 am | |
| Last Friday, the Libertarian presidential ticket of former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson and former California Superior Court judge Jim Gray filed an anti-trust lawsuit in U.S. District court to ask the court to force the Commission on Presidential Debates to include all presidential candidates who have enough ballot access to have a mathematical chance of winning the presidential election to have a spot on the debate stage.
Since then, news blogs and websites on the Internet have published many different articles covering this development. But the silence of the establishment media has been deafening. While Bret Baier of Fox News did make an online blog entry about the lawsuit, there has been no on-air coverage there or anywhere else. A Google search turns up no results for the other establishment news networks.
Media blackouts on important events of this type and magnitude are a likely reason why the level of confidence that the American people have in the establishment television networks is at an all-time low, and trending downward still. One might think that an anti-trust lawsuit that is seeking an injunction to either expand the presidential debates to include viable third party candidates or prevent the debates from occurring would be newsworthy. But to America's establishment media, apparently it is not. They appear to be perfectly content to talk about the upcoming debates as though there is nothing standing in the way.
