| BIG FINE: Taiwanese company A.U. Optronics was ordered to pay a $500 million fine for its part in a global LCD screen price-fixing conspiracy. AU Optronics and the other co-conspirators are also targets of class-action lawsuits.
JAIL TIME: Two of the company's former top executives were sentenced to three years in prison each for their roles in the price-fixing scheme.
MAJOR CASE: The U.S. government is wrapping up an investigation of the scheme that artificially increased the price of LCD screens used in televisions, computers and other electronics. The case involved at least 12 manufacturers.
