| THE ''cowboy'' days of the state's most secretive crime body, the NSW Crime Commission, may be over, with the O'Farrell government announcing a suite of reforms that will usher in an era of transparency to the scandal-rocked agency.
The government has backed away from a key reform, however, rejecting a proposal to give the courts power over secretive criminal asset deals cut between the commission and organised criminals.
The announcement has been sparked in part by a series of articles written by the Herald, revealing accusations that the commission was sharing the proceeds of crime with organised crime figures.
