| PROSECUTORS in the impeachment trial of the Chief Justice of the Philippines, Renato Corona, have presented evidence that he had deposited $US28.7 million into various bank accounts at a time when he was earning less than $US935 a month.
Financial documents presented by the prosecution show Justice Corona maintains 82 dollar-denominated accounts in five banks in the Philippines.
From April 2003 to last December, incoming transactions in his accounts, including deposits and bank transfers, totalled $US28,740,497.93, the documents showed.
