| Not much remains, two days after a suicide bomber blew up himself and nine others in the Damascus suburb of Midan, sending human fragments no larger than your finger across the road - according to the official account.
Not much, except questions. There was no blast mark compatible with an explosion so devastating, and little damage apart from a few broken windows broken. Many locals declared they had heard but not seen what had happened, and had been too frightened to go and look.
And those who did know more were puzzled. "Among the people injured was my cousin, who died of a bullet wound to the chest," said one local resident. "When we were at the hospital, we met another family, of a man who had been shot in the head."
