Though she championed the STOCK Act for six long years – well before it was en vogue to do so – Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) won’t get to see her major legislative achievement signed into law.

Slaughter broke her leg in a fall at a women’s event in New York City, her office said Tuesday. The White House is holding a signing ceremony for the STOCK Act – the insider-trading ban for lawmakers and their aides – on Wednesday.
