| Subject: SCUM: Strike could hamper passports: OZschwitz union Mon Mar 19, 2012 6:33 pm | |
| The production of Australian passports could be disrupted in Victoria, with the armed guards who protect their printing service voting to strike for better pay, a union says.
About 90 per cent of union members working for MSS backed taking industrial action in a vote on Monday to get a fairer pay deal, United Voice says.
MSS guards work at Note Printing Australia based in Craigieburn, in Melbourne's north, which produces around three million passports each year, and a strike would disrupt their production, the union said. Advertisement: Story continues below
United Voice state secretary Jess Walsh said guards had not had a pay rise since mid-2010 and had been locked in a dispute with MSS for more than a year.
