| TWO retired senior Royal Australian Navy officers are embroiled in the federal police investigation of military contractor Tenix Defence for alleged foreign bribery.
The retired officers, a commodore and a captain, were in senior positions with Tenix when the company won and then fulfilled an Australian government-sponsored contract to supply search-and-rescue vessels to the Philippines Coast Guard in 2003 and 2004.
One of the retired officers is understood to have had his home raided by federal police. Neither would comment when contacted by the Herald this week.
Federal police have been investigating Tenix for allegedly bribing officials in the Philippines, Indonesia and other parts of Asia to win shipbuilding and other military contracts.
A source familiar with Tenix's overseas dealings told the Herald bank accounts established by one or more senior employees may have been used in connection to the company's Philippines boat contract.
