| Subject: Thanks to the statist imbeciles at the Fiji quarantine 'service,' KFC takes a battering Wed Aug 03, 2011 3:26 am | |
| Fijians are having to go without fried chicken with the nation's three KFC restaurants forced to close after running out of their signature breadcrumb mix.
But Fiji's quarantine service, which has been blamed for the importation hiccup, claims it's being used as a scapegoat by a mischievous corporate multinational.
KFC says that since October 2010, the Fiji Quarantine and Inspection Division has not allowed the fast food giant to bring in its most needed ingredients, a milk and egg mix and breading salt. Advertisement: Story continues below
But Biosecurity Authority chief executive Elvis Silvestrini told Radio New Zealand International on Wednesday the delay was only temporary and was actually due to KFC's failure to provide a veterinary certificate.
