| Queensland's corruption watchdog has succeeded in clawing back part of the multi-million-dollar fortune of a notorious Gold Coast drug baron jailed six years ago.
Charles Edward Cannon, a 51-year-old former Finks outlaw motorcycle member, is currently serving a 13-year jail term after police busted his amphetamine trafficking syndicate.
Cannon's $27 million fortune has been the subject of Queensland's largest and longest-running civil confiscation case since the Crime and Misconduct Commission restrained his Paradise Point waterfront mansion, a Jaguar car, two luxury catamarans, cash, shares and jewellery in 2005.
In the Brisbane Supreme Court today, Justice Peter Applegarth handed $4.2 million of Cannon's property, which he found to be proceeds of crime, to the CMC.
