| THE Treasurer, Eric Roozendaal, appointed the vice-president of the NSW Labor Party, Michael Williamson, to the board of the State Water Corporation three days before the government entered caretaker mode.
Mr Williamson, who is also NSW general secretary of the Health Services Union, was appointed on March 1 for three years at an annual salary of $34,300.
The state government entered caretaker mode on March 4, after which it was required to consult the Opposition on significant decisions, including appointments.
Mr Williamson, whose term as a director begins on March 25, one day before the election, was recently overlooked as NSW Labor president in favour of a former Keating government minister, Michael Lee.
