A former NSW police officer has been charged with child sex assault, and producing and publishing child porn.

The 40-year-old man was arrested after police searched a Currans Hill home and another unnamed location about noon yesterday.

Police took computer hard drives, flash drives, CDs, notes, images and photographs from the two places.

The man was charged with five counts of sex with a child between 10 and 16 years old in circumstances of aggravation, two counts of producing child porn and six counts of publishing child porn, police said.
