| Subject: Excellent: Smaller OZschwitz miners to resume anti-tax ad campaign Mon Jul 26, 2010 3:40 am | |
| An Australian mining lobby announced plans to resume its advertising campaign against the government's new mining tax, a potential headache for Prime Minister Julia Gillard's re-election campaign.
Ms Gillard, campaigning to return the ruling Labor party to power at the August 21 election, had sought early this month to neutralise the tax debate as an election issue by agreeing with major miners to water down the government's original tax plan.
But the Association of Mining & Exploration Companies, which represents mostly smaller miners, said it was still against the amended tax and would restart its ad campaign.
