| A RESPECTED Canadian air force commander who flew the Queen on official state business has been accused of murdering two women and is being investigated over eight further killings.
Russell Williams piloted the aircraft that carried the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh from London to Alberta in May 2005.
He is now at the centre of one of the most publicised murder trials in Canadian history. Colonel Williams, 46, is also accused of sexually assaulting two other women and photographing them during their ordeal.
Born in Worcestershire, he emigrated to Canada with his family at the age of five in 1968 and joined the Canadian military from university in 1987. He was quickly promoted from captain to colonel and was tipped to be a general. He was chosen to fly the Queen to Canada for her 2005 tour.
