| A 40-year-old woman has been charged after she allegedly dragged a police officer alongside her moving car for up to 150 metres in Geelong today.
Leading Senior Constable Andrew Logan had pulled over the woman for traffic matters near the intersection of Moorabool and McKillop streets about 10.30am.
The police motorcyclist was interviewing the woman when his arm became snagged on the car and the vehicle allegedly drove off, police say.
The woman, from Highton, south-west of Geelong, was arrested at the scene and taken to the Geelong police station.
She has been charged with recklessly endangering a person, recklessly causing a serious injury, driving in a dangerous manner, driving while her licence was suspended, failing to obey a direction of police to stop and using a mobile phone while driving.
Leading Senior Constable Logan was taken to Geelong Hospital suffering suspected broken or dislocated ribs and shoulder after the alleged incident.
He has now been discharged and is recovering at home with soft tissue damage to his shoulder, police say.
The woman was bailed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates Court on April 13.
