Ricky Gervais has hit out at tax exiles and the "disgraceful" celebrities who take part in charity events like Comic Relief to boost their profiles.

Briton's most high-profile tax exiles include Rolling Stone Sir Mick Jagger and Formula One star Lewis Hamilton, who recently admitted that avoiding the taxman was a factor in his move to Switzerland.

Multi-millionaire Gervais, 46, told the Radio Times: "I love paying tax. It helps justify how much I earn.

"There's something unsavoury about tax exiles. 'Pay your tax or fuck off'.
