| Subject: The Utah Legislature acts like it wants Utah to go it alone. Go for it. Sun Apr 25, 2021 7:55 pm | |
| Why doesn’t the Utah Legislature do what they really want to do and vote to secede from the union? They already vote to prevent implementation of federal laws they don’t like; they ignore or overturn voter initiatives; they engage in wasteful lawsuits in support of homegrown unconstitutional legislation and are against any federal interference that goes against their libertarian grain. States’ rights should be the battle cry.
So why not cut the cord and break away from all of those federal fetters that crimp their management style? Cast off all that left-leaning, socialist, outside interference (and funding). Ignore the outcry about congressional district gerrymandering (they do that already) and eschew all of that strings-attached federal money. Let Utah go it alone, after all we have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation, the economy is booming, and people are tripping over each other to move here because we have the pioneer spirit that made this state great. Leave us alone.
