Most drivers would think twice about bringing traffic to a standstill to ask for directions, but then again most drivers aren’t in control of a $14 million military helicopter.

Incredible footage has captured the moment a soviet-designed Mi-8 gunship lowered itself onto the middle of a Kazakhstan highway, stopping several perplexed truck drivers to find out exactly where he was.

The pilot of the chopper can be seen jogging in the direction of the closest truck before saluting him, shaking his hand and then asking “which way is the city?”.

"They were lost," the truck driver relayed to his colleagues."
