The Bali bombers' lawyer has denied his clients wrote a letter threatening the Indonesian president's life if they're executed.

The letter, which has been on an internet website for at least a month, is purportedly from Imam Samudra and brothers Mukhlas and Amrozi.

It urges Islamist militants to war against and kill President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and other senior officials in retaliation for the executions.

Lawyer Fahmi Bachmid says the death row bombers didn't write it.

Security's been tightened around the president as well as the Australian and US embassies after bomb threats against them were sent by text message to Indonesian police yesterday.
